The filtrate to be treated flows through the inlet into the gap between two discs. All particles larger than the mesh openings are trapped by the filter screen to form a filter cake. The formed filter cake can also intercept particles smaller than the mesh size of the screen.
To avoid clogging of the filter screen caused by accumulated filter cake, the filter discs rotate toward the outlet. Filter residues are conveyed collectively to the outlet and discharged by the rotation of the discs at the outlet.
To keep the screen free of contaminants and prevent buildup of resin, rubber and other large particulate impurities, self-cleaning nozzles installed above the screen spray wash water after each rotation to maintain a clean screen surface.
Applications:
· Recover fibers and raw materials, and replace fresh water with clean recycled water;
· Improve the effluent quality of existing white water recovery systems, multi-disc filters and DAF dissolved air flotation units to produce ultra-clear water;
· Treat filtrate from screw presses, white water recovery units and filters for fiber reuse;
· Separate sludge from pulp-making wastewater;
· Pre-treat black liquor from pulping to protect evaporators;
· Pre-concentrate biological sludge;
· Boost the capacity of existing wastewater treatment systems or serve as pre-treatment for wastewater treatment;
· Conduct post microfiltration for biological wastewater treatment to meet discharge standards;
· River water treatment.
